Hypersynth is a packaging and experiential design project that explored branding, high-end product marketing, and immersive user experiences. The goal was to create packaging that enhances both the brand’s identity and the product’s value. Inspired by Gentle Monster, a luxury Asian sunglasses brand addressing fit issues for Asian facial structures, Hypersynth takes a new bold, and futuristic approach.
The Logo and vector elements combines fluidity and structure, emulating the structure of the sunglasses, and the versatility of wearing Hypersynth Sunglasses.
The packaging creates a satisfying experience to the eye with the metallic silver encompassing the entire box. With the look and feel reflecting the brand identity, the details all relate back to the values of the company. The outer layer of the box provides the details of the glasses going over the collection category, the edition number, and description of the company.
The inside layer is hollow to hold space for the sunglass case, as well as a card collectible going into detail about the collection
. The case itself is stamped with the logo initials for a final touch on the box design.
Social Media and Advertising are used to promote the experiential design pop-up to provide an in-person experience of the company brand.
The Experience: Participants are able to walk through a “Runway” Scene with mirrors encompassing the entrie room to act as a photo-op. The Environment represents a visual representation of the “calm yet confident” aesthetic with the sunglasses. The Layout creates a fluid experiential timeline from introduction to end. The introduction provides a gentle ease into the company grand. The climax leads to the runway aesthetic and a model photo-op. The end acts as a reflection on the takeaway for the participants to visualize themselves.
The biggest challenge was understanding experiential design, combining 3D modeling and advertising. To overcome this, I focused on conveying confidence and stability—key aspects of well-fitted sunglasses. The packaging and pop-up design emphasized structure through rigid yet curved forms, while mirrors and greenery created an environment reflecting the confidence sunglasses should inspire. This project deepened my understanding of experiential design and its role in elevating a brand’s visual impact.
